I love this race
And it gets more anarchic every year. Hellishly difficult for one team to control thanks to the parcours + 6 man squads
Latest news is confirmation of Cav riding

Summit finish on Hartside looks set to destroy my current strava ranking... lousy pros."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Was looking at the route earlier this week. Stage 5 goes right past my Gran's front door...0

Stage start in Cockermouth where I grew up too!"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Explains a lot.
I'll be in Bologna getting very fat by the time it comes to London.0 -
Looking forward to this, thought the last two editions were very entertaining. Maybe will be able to sneak out of work early to see the stage that finishes in Colne. Lovely part of the world0

Like why I don't live in Cockermouth, for a start."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Our club rode stage 2 the other week and if some riders attack it will blow the race wide open. Owain Doull and Steven Burke recce'd it and both agree it is going to a tough stage.
The climb out of Earby, Stoney Bank Lane, is an absolute killer, if you are going to watch the stage and want to see riders struggle then I would go there - I will be if the weather is naff, otherwise I am cycling to Slaidburn.0 -

I know quite a lot of this route but never ridden there. Lovely scenery, also looks a very good route to catch the race several times - sadly I can't.0 -
I'll be off down London again for the final stage, unfortunately the route doesn't come anywhere near Bucks unlike last year. Shame they dropped the time trial, was a good watch last year. Does anyone know where the buses will be parked for the London stage this year? Not likely to be Westminster bridge again with the route change.0

Guaranteed to be some terrible weather when they go over Llanberis then!
They need to get up to some of the big climbs in Scotland.0 -
Not a huge surprise but Cav is confirmed for Ettix0

Suspect they'll be parked up in Waterloo Place0 -
I rode the last 20k or so of Stage 1 and it's lumpier than you think.
The finishing straight is very narrow as well, and slightly uphill on cobbles.
Interesting0 -
I find the ToB a funny race. I'll follow my usual pattern of thinking "meh", then will randomly watch some highlights of a stage and think it was cracking racing.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0

Nice one! I never really believed anyone won those fantastic competitions. I will be riding up for the tourist spectacle in central London - so if your chauffeur driven conveyance passes a sad sap on a bright orange CX bike give me a regal wave0 -

To be fair I did just say I'd edited it, not that I'd improved it at all!0 -
