Fairly sure the Dutch pulled out.0 -

Anna Solovey on the left has just been sacked by Astana-Acca Due O. She's been banned for doping once, but the Ukrainian Fed claims that the sacking is something about her not being Kazakh...
I take it the Dutch didn't pull out...0 -
Haha, a doper takes 2nd in a corrupt country. These games are great.Contador is the Greatest0

Kirienyka wins the TT.0

I can't from work, but someone please post the tweet from Cafe Roubaix showing the awesome crowds at these games. Plastic figures cheering Grivko on...0

The whole Europe Asia device is all very confusing as neither is an independent land mass. Seems to be whatever suits people at the time
Wiki seems to think that there is a small bit of Azerbaijan which is within Europe:
The modern border follows the Aegean Sea, the Dardanelles-Sea of Marmara-Bosphorus, the Black Sea, along the watershed of the Greater Caucasus, the northwestern portion of the Caspian Sea and along the Ural River and Ural Mountains to the Arctic Ocean, as mapped and listed in most atlases including that of the National Geographic Society and as described in the World Factbook.[18][19] According to this definition, Georgia and Azerbaijan both have most of their territory in Asia, although each has small parts of their northern borderlands north of the Greater Caucasus watershed and thus in Europe

Got the mens Road Race on. I have to say it isn't particularly inspiring at the moment and the commentary is a bit lame. Hopefully the race and commentary will pick up0

Glorious morning Boonen in a break with Terps according to Twitter?...a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -

Glorious morning Boonen in a break with Terps according to Twitter?
Er...I 'm not sure about that. De Clerq is in the lead group, as is Dunne of Ireland (not sure about this Irish kit..it's blue)0 -

95% silence is an interesting commentary choice.0

Coverage was abysmal - almost no graphics, clueless commentary that was adding nothing (when he was choosing to speak). Cycling NEEDS pictures that tell the story and regular graphics are essential to make the pictures relevant - a 'kms to go' countdown or at least 'laps remaining' if the technology is not available for that. It then needs a commentary pairing that can add context to the pictures and graphics. Not the commentator's fault in total but a bit of knowledge would have added so much more considering the lack of information. He was mixing up Sanchez and Herrada at the end at times, when a simple reference to their trade teams helmets would have avoided any confusion. Missing the flame rouge and 500m to go sign led to him almost missing the sprint while the camera picked up Herrada who had sat up.0

I had no idea this thing even existed.0

where road racing is concerned I'll watch the equivalent of paint drying for hours. However, I have to say that race was the dullest thing ever broadcast. I'd sooner have watched the test card. What a total non-event from the parcours to the crowdless streets to the really bad commentary.0

Oh yes LLS. Suck on that Belgium.Contador is the Greatest0

The highlight was Terpstra going mental at Keukeliere from Belgium sat on him when he tried to make a break.
I think Alaphilippe climbed off due to acute boredom0 -
Bo Duke wrote:This also handed a lot of power to UEFA who then actively expanded by allowing other, totally illogical countries to join, such as Kazakstan which borders Xinjiang province, China... hardly the best definition of europe.
Tell me about it. West Ham are in the first qualifying round of the Europa League, as are two teams from Kazakhstan. I'm hoping we don't draw them as I was hoping for a bit of Euro action, over the summer holidays just in case we get knocked out before the first round proper (that and I'm a teacher, so wouldn't be able to make games in the main season anyway).
A nice draw against a Western European nation would go down quite well.Twitter: @RichN950 -

Guess we can expect a stage win from LL Sanchez in the Tour then.Twitter: @RichN950
