Hi everyone, just been fitting some new XT brakes to my Lapierre Zesty 314 2013 and the front brake went on fine. The rear one I have a rear post to IS mount and doesn't seem right to fit. Anyone know what mount I should need or is it the correct one? I'll upload picture in 5 mins as well.
Cheers

Does your frame looks like this?
If your caliper has a Post to IS adapter on it like this on it, you will need to remove it and get a Post to Post adapter like this.
Mounting instructions: https://static.bike-components.de/cache/dl-sm-ma-f180p_p2-pdf-a5962e5d9c98785d3976b23459cc6790.pdf
This adapter attaches on the rear the same way it attaches to a fork.0 -
As above, from looking at pictures I could find, the ear is post mount and not IS.
A picture of your bike would confirm it though.0 -
What was wrong with the original mount?I don't do smileys.

Yes that looks exactly like my bike, so would you say I should a front post to post mount ? Thanks very much for the advice

Front post mount to post mount adapters work on rear post mounts exactly the same way they work on a fork with post mounts.
You don't have to use a Shimano adapter, if you already have a 180mm PM to PM adapter that was from another brand of brake you can reuse it with the Shimano brake.0 -
