Here she is half built, will finish it off this evening. If I run a 42/17 combo I can run it with no tensioner, so I will give it a go and see if it meets my needs. I am hoping that riding this bike will increase my revs as I will have to pedal like the clappers to maintain decent speed.

Very, very nice. Chapeau. It's the perfect winter bike - simple enough for nothing to go wrong with it but nice enough to keep you motivated to go out on it.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Here is the finished article, really pleased with the bike and it rides superbly. Hoping this bike makes me a lot fitter for next season. If I do not take to the singlespeed way of things, it would not be a huge effort to make this into a normal road bike.

After sleeping on it I have decided that the American Classic wheels are too nice for winter duties so I have fitted a set of Mavic Open Pro ceramic coated rims on Novatec hubs along with a set of tough 25mm Schwalbe Durano Plus Etapes. Quite a bit heavier than the other set up but that is no worry on a training bike.

Nice build. I actually prefer the look of it with the Mavic Open Pro's, looks more purposeful. Though IMO I think an all black seat post would suit the bike more, now you've changed the wheels.“Training is like fighting with a gorilla. You don’t stop when you’re tired. You stop when the gorilla is tired.”0 -
You seem to get parts and bikes thrown at you, or do you switch all the time?
The quality of the bikes you put up here are amazing! Lucky man.0
