Richard Attenborough that is. A really versatile actor, could play anything from nasty b@stards to lovely old gentlemen.

    Yes he was a great man. Along with his great acting, directing and charity work he was also a true Chelsea fan, Life President. He helped keep the vultures away from Stamford Bridge when they were looking to build on the site and for that I will be forever grateful. He was also responsible for getting Raquel Welch into a Chelsea kit! RIP Dickie.

    They just don't make them like that any more. And Dear, Dear, Dicky will also be sadly missed. No-one else could play a cowardly spiv with quite the same sense of sweaty-necked panic.

    Just watched the tribute to Dickie on BBC1. A programme of exquisite beauty. Well worth catching on iPlayer.

    Let's not mention his naturalist brother. Don't think I will be able to cope when he dies.
