Ride won't upload to strava

I recorded a ride with my garmin 500. It has uploaded fine to both garmin connect and mapmyride. When uploading to strava, it gets as far as "matching climbs" before saying "error processing activity".
I have tried copying the .gpx file onto my pc and doing an upload from the file.
I have tried exporting the ride from garmin connect as a .gpx
I have tried exporting the ride from garmin connect as a .tcx
I have tried exporting the ride from mapmyride as a .gpx
None of the above works. The garmin connect rides fail in the same way as from the device, and mapmyride doesn't export the time data.
I have put the activity number into "copymysports" and will see if that does anything (I doubt it will).
Can anyone help?

I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

Yeh, todays ride is still sat at home on my Garmin waiting to upload, a header on the web page says "Activity uploading is currently experiencing delays. Uploads in progress will complete once site maintenance is finished."Advocate of disc brakes.0

It's kind of annoying, but as it's all free I can't complain, just have to get on with some work instead!0

I imagine Strava support will give you a more educated response than anyone on this forum as they will have access to all the facts.0 -
Update:
It was indeed the technical issues that strava was having, and not a corrupted garmin file.Red bikes are the fastest.0
