On one 456 evo2

I just bought one of these

Would you say the brakes were the weakest link?

I got it with a reverb for and extra 150

    Depends. With me on it, the rider would be the weakest link, lol.

    Not tried Elixir 1s, but my Elixir 3s are ok. Not too much lever travel (once I'd advanced the pads), good feel and enough power for my riding.

    Probably best to describe them as functional not enjoyable

    They will stop me, just.. But I can't say they're very confidence inspiring and just lack that bite and control shimano offers. They will however do the job if bled regularly and pads are in good shape, otherwise they're like sponges

    Haven't needed to bleed mine. Hydraulic brakes are a sealed system. They need bleeding when initially filled, but if they need bleeding after that then air's getting in somewhere.
