Play in DMR Vault

There's play in me drive side Vault and it's really noticeable when pedalling (there's a small amount in t'other side but this is not noticeable.) I've removed the pedal body, cleaned up the axle, re-greased and made sure the o-rings are in position, but it's made no difference. The bearings feel smooth, the pedals spin smoothly and quietly.

The play is at the crank end, at the o-rings, so it seems to me they could be the problem? Worn or something? Service kits are 20-25 quid which seems excessive, although I've found a German site doing them for 13 euro, still a bit much. Would any cheap o-ring of the right diameter do?

more likely to be the bush in the body.

  • Am I right in saying there's an o-ring on the axle which seals up against the bush in the body then? Is this replaceable with an alternative or does it have to be the DMR specific product?
