    It was touching the second from biggest cog, wouldn't go into the biggest. Then I adjusted the b screw so it moved away from the cog and then it shifted into the biggest cog.

    If it went from OK to touching that cog in one ride something's either broken or went very wrong.

    Yeah that's what I thought, it's a strange thing to happen! Don't know what it could be though...

    Sounds like maybe something is working loose or is slipping while you ride.

    Think you may be right, on closer inspection of taking the mech off. The bolt that screws into the hanger had come loose, undone a few threads. Didn't look like it had ripped out, looked like it had worked itself loose. I done it up tight as far as I remember. Will be checking it every couple of miles in the next few rides, see if I can work it out.
