Excuse the pun,
But is the change from 3x9 to 2x10 worth it for trail riding?
Just want to know if it's worth the investment

Not really, seeing as how you are looking at....chainrings, shifter (at least the RH), cassette, rear mech and chain, only did it if buying a new bike or when cassette and chain need replacing anyway. Could go 2x9 with say 26/36.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
