Rotor Q Rings - Front Mechs

Hi all,

I'm in the process of building up my new R5 vwd frame (yes I know...another one!) and I've just picked up a Rotor crank set and have some Q Rings in the post. I notice that rotor sell small blocks to outset front mech's to work with the oval cranks - are these necessary or can I save myself £25?

Any experience appreciated.

It all depends on where your mech hanger is positioned on your frame. One frame I have its not a problem and the other I just pop in a couple of formed washers between the mech and the hanger which helps tilt the mech a little bit. I find the spacers angle it too much resulting in the underside if the mech cage coming into contact with the chain.
  • Ok, cheers. I might leave the front mech setup to the LBS!!

didn't fit anything to my frame. didn't even think about it. I just fit the cranks and lined the mech up

I have a dura ace 7900 front mech and you can adjust it just about any way necessary
