ok I can get this bike (slightly cheaper than here)
http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/products.p ... 1b0s2p4752
or the scott
http://www.ratrace.com/79707/products/s ... -2013.aspx
or the rockrider
http://www.decathlon.co.uk/rockrider-81 ... 68918.html
the guys in my bike shop say the scott bike is a very good bike and it is a 29er and they say it flies...
what do you guys think is best out of the above?

Not great but no worse than the one on the Scott.

Not very good, no MTB is.....Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

well I am talking about the 'roads' on the IOW... some of which are so bad they might as well be offroad anyway. probably kill myself using a flimsy road bike on some of em.
but spec wise then, how is the rockrider compared to the scott?0 -
Why don't you list the spec for each and compare. Consider it an education.
You have a few threads going and seem to want a 'name'. You will get a better bike for the money from Halfords or Decathlon, as has been pointed out in all the threads.
So choose, name or spec. Or increase your budget.I don't do smileys.
