Lanarkshire: Round Strathaven 50 - Sunday 19th Aug '12

This is a cracking 50m run through country lanes around Strathaven taking in Dungavel, Sandford, Stonehouse, Larkhall, Glassford, Chapelton and Auldhouse. £15 charity donation required. Sign in on the day at the George Allan Park in Strathaven. Signposted and marshalled junctions. Tea, cakes and sandwiches at Sandford, Glassford en route and back at the finish. 15 mile family run at 1-2pm also. Watch out for traffic restrictions due to road works if coming by car.

    Big thanks to all those involved in organising this. Marshals and signs all excellent and easy to find your way around and the tea and cakes at Sandford and Glassford were just the job for a quick 5 minute refill - thank you.

    Weather was perfect as well, bonus!

    I shall definitely be back if it is organised next year.

    A great day, lots of good craic round a nippy wee course, got spat out the back more times than a bag of wasabi peanuts but still made it back in under three hours. Home baking at the end was awesome.

    Will definitely be back next year.
