Well after having my current bike for the last 4 years I thought i'd have a go at building my own up.
Current bike is an '08 Giant Rainier and has served me well
I have bought this frame from Gazlar
And also a deore crank set with bottom bracket, 9 speed deore shifters, seat post, stem, handlebars, chain and rotors.
Welshkev is donating a 9 speed cassette and front mech.
I need to purchase a rear mech and brakes and some gear cables.
I'm going to use the wheels off my giant as there are in as new condition and take the RS tora 302's off my Giant and put them on this build.
So far it's been a relatively cheap affair but still have parts to buy.
It's not the most exciting build granted and will only be a bit of an upgrade from what i have now but I think I just wanted to build my own bike up Then i will be selling off what is left of the Giant to hopefully pay for some bits i've no doubt forgotten

Cheers both. Just put the new rear mech on and fitted a new headset. Front mech should be here today and hopefully picking up the brakes on the weekend then I should have everything i need to get it built and on the trails. I want to swap the spacers though as they were both meant to be orange but in no way match so it's back to black for now.

Well she's done pretty much. just need to sort out a new hose for the rear and new handlebars.

have just ordered white hoses for the brakes and white outers for the gears.
So far we have:
Focus Black Forest (large) Frame
RS Tora 302 solo air forks
Superstar headset
Avid Elixir 4 brakes
Shimano deore 3x9 shifters
Shimano deore front and rear mech.
Shimano deore cranks and BB
Wheels, tyres, saddle, forks, handlebars and grips all taken from my Giant.
The rear hose on the elixirs is a bit short and the front a touch long but that should be sorted this week.
