Just incase anybody was interested in this...
Valverde took the leaders jersey and stage 2 yesterday atop the Alto del Santuario. Followed by Menchov and Frank Schleck who looked on good form for early season, compared to his brother anyway.

I think he could be on the Podium in some big races this year, he has done nothing but train since his ban, he's showing early form so i'm just hoping he won't peak to soon. Would like to see him ride the Vuelta along with Contador to spice things up, but he's firmly set his sights on the Tour!0 -

Tour? Surely not for GC?
He could easily ride for Tour stage wins and knock it off in the hills to keep fresh for the Vuelta.___________________

Before his ban Valverde used to be one of my favourite riders, so am interested to see how he does this year as a bit of a unknown quantity. Obv has some form from all his training0

The climb to the finish in La Guardia de Jaén, a small old Roman village, averages over 8% for the final 1.8 km with the last 100m being over 10%.
