I recently bought a carbon controltech estro stem for my mountain bike. I purchased said stem from the ever popular Flea-bay from who'm would seem unfortunately a somewhat dishonest fellow rider. When I received the stem as described as used but as new & excitedly unwrapped it I discovered that the front part of the stem which clamps the bars to it had a split in it, you can imagine my disappointment.

Does anyone have any ideas where I might purchase a new front plate for the stem ??
Any ideas would be grately appriciated :)

Open a dispute with the seller if it wasn't as described? Paypal disputes are simple to do.

    What have you done?

    Simple procedure:
Message the seller with the problem.
No joy open a dispute through Ebay.

You will win, they will refund you.

    Simple.

+1 more potato and all that.

PayPal will reverse the payment ultimately based purely on your say so with no evidence and he'll have a nightmare arguing otherwise.

That's why PayPal are good for buyers and utterly suck for sellers. I've stopped selling on ebay because of PayPal (practices like this and their and ebay's seller charges).

I had something similar recently and after raising a dispute, the seller issued a full refund and told me to dispose of the damaged item as they didn't want to pay the return postage

It does take a bit of time but you will end up with a refund
