What is this curious noise ?
When Im on my roadbike on flats or climbs and i have to get out of the saddle and sway the bike from side to side as you do, I get this clanking sound while i pedal that isnt there when Im sitting and pedalling. Ive tightened any allen bolts at the crank and seatpost, but yet it persists. One thing I noticed is that some of the spokes on my rear wheel have lost some tension and stiffness and im thinking of taking it to lbs to have them re-tensioned, wheel is running true though.Im puzzled as to what could be causing the noise which occurs during the pedalling and swaying motion only..................any thoughts ?

How often is the noise?? Is it once per pedal revolution or not - the first clue for you as to where to look.0

I'd personally get your wheels looked at if the spokes have lost tension. My bike was making the same noise in the same circumstances and I was curious as to what it was until one day when riding home from work my back wheel just went and it moved from side to side big time as my spokes were shot, I ended up buying a new set of wheels in the end.Road - http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=12777154&p=16943702#p16943702
