My girlfriend has just bought a Brompton and I purchased the following multitool for removing the wheelnuts:

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/pedros-trixie-fixed-gear-multi-tool/

The Brompton website suggests that the wheelnuts are 15 mm, but the box spanner on the tool seems a bit loose on the nuts. Can anyone confirm that this is the correct tool as I don't want to round the nuts off.

Thanks,

Pete

15mm is standard for wheelnuts, if the tool was 16mm or the nuts 14mm it would spin, so you should be fine!

  • An ill-fitting tool will mess up your nuts (steady). Get yourself something befitting and, err fitting.

    Cute bit of kit :-)
Has a nice 15mm socket that works the flats not the vernices so it shouldn't damage your nuts (again, steady)

Thanks both, the Trixie seems to work fine.

I like the look of that socket set, though.
