So went to LBS today to try out an overpriced Zaskar and a tidy Giant XTC2.
Ended up liking the feel of a cheaper Cube Acid and was weighing up the possibilty of accepting a lower spec.
Then I sat on a Giant Talon 0 2012 29er!!!!
Omg it just felt right, riding position, reach, balance etc etc
LBS say I can take it out for a test so I'm off back down there later this afternoon.
So at the moment I'm looking at the latter 2 bikes.
I mainly ride off road bridle way, some single track and country lane. Occasional smattering of trail centre.
Don't want to trigger a 29 v 26 debate but any advice appreciated. Googling the matter tends to come up with extreme views. Any tips from peeps who have ridden both?

As above, whatever feels best. Hard to judge up 29ers and 26ers, as the geo varies even amongst the same type.0

The 29er feels great tbh had a 30 min spin nothing mucky and it felt so comfy, having a chance to mess around with the set up it will only get better.
I'm just nervouse as a quick tour of google gives some varying opinions, im either going to be more sexually attractive to women or die of shame :P0 -
Very generally they tend to roll a bit faster over bumps, but take a litle more effort to get up to constant speed. They cn feel slower handling in tight corners.0

And you will never be sexually attractive to women so learn to deal with the shame. At least it's not an Orange 5.I don't do smileys.
