Couldn't think where best to put this on the forum so I'll try it here.

Being from Northampton, I just saw this new service being promoted in the local rag;

In an ideal world we shouldn't have to pay the private sector to push the Police into serving the public, and even with video evidence still there's no guarantee the Police will do anything to address careless driving.

Is this a good or bad idea? It has the potential to go nationwide but I feel there is something fundamentally wrong with the public having to pay for a basic standard of justice from public servants whose function is already to protect and serve.
