Beat my 20mph average goal today :o)

Your next goal should be to get out more!!
"Let's just all be really careful out there folks!"
Cheers  I'll try

Its the CycleMeter App on the iPhone mate
"As I said last time, it won't happen again."
You must live in a flattish area. Still, good effort.
North Yorkshire isn't flat, but my run into work isn't too bad...
What is your average speed the other way, if it's below 20mph, getting it above 20 could be your next goal
Dave
As has been said, next target is to look at the other way or a 'round trip' average!

Good call! I hadn't even thought of that
What is your average the other way out of interest?
The last time I did it, 18.08mph, but that was on the 25th May
I normally plump for a longer route home, depending on what sort of day I've had at work... The best stress relief in the world IMHO!
The worst thing is people not giving you room on National Speed Limit Single Carriageway roads
Camera getting ordered soon!
why not try for 20 mph avg for the full commute?
Good effort tho'
Does your App give you any other data? Gradients? Total ascent / descent?
Don't have an Iphone at the moment - but interesting.
But still wondering about an earlier post...
Why does 27mph suggest that you live in a flattish area?
I hit 35-38mph every day on my commute into work (And Yes! That is down hill)
So at what "speed" does the road turn into a descent?!?!!?
For more info on the app, check here!
it's very good, but that app looks very interesting.
My comment regarding flat / descents was related to moodyan's comment
If a rider tells me he did 27mph, I assume a descent.
But maybe that's becasue I'm so slow!?!
Close, but no cigar
These were my speeds/times for today's ride home...

Never mind, tomorrow is a new day 8)
Trek 7.5fx
That is good going !!
My route is 10 miles with 454 feet of climbing over the 1st 5 miles.
Fully loaded panniers with work clothes, sandwiches, tools etc etc i clocked 32 minutes as a PB , normally its around 35 minutes.
Best PB is 37 miles at an average of 19 mph unladen .
76 miles in 4 hours 19 mins unladen.(ashbourne sportive)
I go from SW London and along CS7 to Euston. My best average is 20.15mph with stopped time of around 9 mins due to all the flaming lights so it is do-able.
Cloggsy i'm off to Whitby for a week in August and trying to negotiate my bike into the packing. You anywhere near there?
I live in Bedale matie; a good hour or so away by car...
This.
95 sets of the feckers on my 16 mile commute. My record is 17.4 coming in and 16.6 going home, pretty flat (the Romans weren't stupid) but no chance of improvement when you're constantly having to stop.
Good effort though mate.
