Things that make you smile...

A bit like the "What annoys you" thread, what are the things that put a smile on your face?

To start the ball rolling:

Coffee in the morning, not the first drink of the day, that has to be tea, but a nice mid-morning latte.
Bacon.
Watching the sunrise.
A nice tailwind.
Reaching the top of a climb.

sustained sunlight and blue skies opening up on an empty stretch of bridleway by the side of reservoirs sandwiched between rolling hills, motoring along because i can.

Aw, for an undercover police officeryou really are a big softie!

    I'd say:
getting to the top of a climb and seeing a beautiful bit of trail open up ahead of you.
That time at Nant-yr-Arian when the red kite was gliding along right next to us as we were riding
Pulling off a tricky bit of trail, when you look back and think "how the hell did I do that" and start laughing for no reason
Drivers who give cyclists plenty of room when they overtake
Doing a good job, whatever it is that I'm doing
    Mates, family, all that jazz.

some of that is very fruity but i can definately appreciate being greeted by a hound when i get home, my little dog loves me so much, i do quite like that.

its been so long since i saw a dry trail that i forgot how much i enjoy those, i tried to enjoy riding in the wet an mud but it doesnt matter how i try to dice it, i just plain dont like it.

so my new list would be :

    knocking off early

seeing my hounds when i get home

    dry trails.

The first swig of a foreign lager, or British beer after work.
Racing another biker and it being a hair-splittingly close finish.
My girl when she's changing.... and most other times :)
    Really good home cooked food.

+1 to everything Bails87 posted - (replace kite with lamb in my experience)

I love how it's the simple things that make people feel great.

My 3yr old son and 1yr old daughter.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

Being on a bike. Even the times when I'm nearly out of energy, in pain, or just riding to the shops, just being on a bike is better than anything else.

walking on the beach with the kids during winter when there's nobody else around
rolling down sand dunes like a five year old
beer and a nice open fire
going to west mersea and watching the kids peeling and eating plates of shelfish.
marmite burn on bread that's toasted almost black
ironing and watching daytime TV when it's peeing down outside and everybody else is out (a bit g*y but a rarity and my one guilty pleasure)
spending an hour in the bath listening to the radio
Visit Clacton during the School holidays - it's like a never ending freak show.

    Who are you calling inbred?
