hi all,

Not sure which forum to put this in..... workshop seems closest as it is about cleaning bike bits, okay its clothing ;)

I have a mavic hydro softshell... and a mavic inferno jacket(warmshell what ever that means)

They are in need of a clean and there are no instructions other than 30 degrees, so im going to handwash... but what with.

I have some assos active clean stuff which assos recommends for its kit, but is this going to cause any issue to the softshell?

Also I have seen cleaning products specifically for softshells to help them stain rain resistant?

Cheers

Will

PS sorry for the numpty question just crap with washing things, Ive killed things in the past.

They will be fine to machine wash but use a cold or 30 deg wash. have you a delicates setting or a quick cycle then use that. Spin at 700rpm. The Assos cleanser will be fine or use liquid soap (tesco sell one by DP) which is v.good. Hang to air dry or if you have a dryer then maybe 20 mins on low temp then air dry

This stuff is very good: Twin Pack Nikwax Tech Wash

Similar to the above, just chuck in your jacket at 30deg, synthetic wash and do that twice (once for the wash and then again with the proofer). Hang it up to dry, sorted.

It's a bit expensive though but I only use it about once a month.
