I think you need to be more specific in your post to get an adequate reply. Are you talking about cameras and mounts or resolutions for light conditions?

Someone posted on this forum a link to a US site with an ultra-cheap and small HD camera that looked good, but my search-fu is weak and I can't find it. If anyone remembers it (the site was the name of the company/camera, and had a sample video taken from a UK motorcyclist) please repost, thanks!

^^ That's what I use, but you can find them on eBay for about £7. Low light quality is poor though.

Then again it is on most unless you pay £100 plus, however if you are into video editing which I have been for a V E R Y long time, simply place it in Pinnacle studeo (I use 12) and increase brightness/contrast before burning a dvd.

I have happily recorded when riding through towns lit, and with good bike lights edited you can make out enough detail should you need evidence.

I do it for a living, well I say I do it for a living, my job title is "Video Editor" but that also includes any number of random menial administration tasks that go with it.... [/rant] anyway, I don't think the problem is really with the brightness of the image, but rather the shutter speed when it clicks into the 15fps low light setting - it just blurs everything.
