bit of help/advice regarding a gpx route

doing the skakespeare 100m sportive soon and the route is now available to download on there site . ive downloaded it and had alook at it on google earth but the gpx file looks vey basic and shows the route as going through fields and the juctions not well placed . Is there a way of tweaking this file to be a bit more accurate ? hope you no what i mean ,cheers

    I tend to just open the map in one tab of a browser and copy the route onto bikeroutetoaster (or whatever your preferred mapping site is) that I have open in another tab next to it, that way you can be sure the turns are correct, and add any waypoints you want.
    Complicating matters since 1965
