hi all, need abit of guidance please

i`ve got a saracen mantra that i freeride on, a scott reflex 20 HT for XC and want to complete the set so to speak.....
full suss is on the cards but i`m in a bit of a pubble as what to get.....
with all the 0% deals online i`ve got a budget of 2k and a short list thats abit 2 ply....

i could get XC full suss like giant anthem X4, specialized fsr xc pro and continue with the type of ridin that i`ve been doing for the last 3 years or....

expand my horizons a bit and go for a trail bike like trek fuel ex8, lapierre zesty 314.

what do we think ??? :D

There are loads..the EX8, Lappy 314, Marin Mount Vision, at a push an Orange Five, plus the ones you mention...you need a 120mm/140mm travel bike no more for trail centre riding....the Trek, Orange and Marin have won numerous awards (though I personally can't justify the cost for a simple single pivot design with welded alloy construction from Orange....compared with the stunning hydroformed frames)...but after all it's your money and all of these can be seen being thrased on trails...you will get loads of different recomendations mainly beacause that's what "they" ride...best thing is try to demo some and go with what fits and feels best as two grand is a lot of cash...I would look at the first three for sure !

I have a 13 year old Marin Mount Vision and it rides like new! Marin give things like trailing arm bushings a lifetime warranty and they have a great reputation for fixing things under warranty if they break.

If I were to buy a new bike I'd consider Marin just because of the build quality and after sales.

I had real problems with Saracen. My Raw II needed new trailing arm bushings, turned out they couldn't supply parts for any bike more than six months old. I gave up in the end, gave the bike to a mate and just turned up the through bolt really tight.

For ref here is a Mount Vision 2010 bang on budget...http://www.bikescene.co.uk/Marin-Mount- ... 1-0-0.html

However if you can get away with a medium, the 2009 has a slight better spec and £200 odd cheaper
