the bike is a month old, and almost since I started riding it the lockout didnt do anything. unfortunately I'm on my vacation now, and cant get it back to the dealer.
any tips on sorting this out (in case it's a easy fix).
the locking mechanism is through the extension cord mounted on the steering bar.
same goes for the recoil speed adjuster. it just doesnt seem to do anything.

Make sure the cable tension is set correctly. If they have been upside down you need to compress the fork or so times for the oil to pump back into the right place.
The rebound adjustment is a narrow band.0 -
Ive re tensioned the cable, and even tried directly turning the knob, but without luck.
-wasnt upside down... I've ridden down 300 yards of stairs today... I'm pretty much sure that compressed it a bit0 -
Knackered then, send them back or service. Could be a leaky damper.0

would you suggest re-assembling it? never went down that road before, and am not sure if I can scew something up. also, what's the expected time for the full re-assembly?0

Couple of weeks usually, but I'd phone the people you bought it from.
RS does have some basic service guides on site.0 -
If the forks are still under warranty get them sent back. I'd trouble with my Toras (not the same issue as you though) and Fishers had them fixed up and back to me in under a week.
