Forks that don't break the bank

I've been looking at forks.
2nd hand Tora 302's vs new manitou relics super 7 vs RST gila
Are the 2nd hand Tora's worth really that much better than a set of new manitous or RST?
Is it better to have the newer fork due to wear and tear or does it not make much difference?

Are the RST Gilas's any good? Ive seen them on Meridas etc but have no idea how they perform.
Toras on the other hand are highly rated for their reliability from what ive seen.0 -
The Gila Pro is the only one worth having, and the Tora would still out perform it.
Go for the Tora.0 -

Depends which Tora - a 130mm solo air form a couple of years ago is 4.38lbs.That is just lighter than a Relic Elite which has thinner stanchions.
I have seen them for 80 quid.0 -
Ah, that's not so bad then. My coil Tora was 5.0lb dead with a cut steerer. Not hideous, but the bulk of the weight was in the pig iron steerer making it top heavy.0

Yeah, the alloy steerers are the ones to get lol. Both mine are alloy, cuts a load of weight off.0
