In a quandry

I'm utterly shattered after sorting the garden out today - front and back hedges trimmed, lawns cut and drive cleaned. (it's a big drive!)
All in that temp I posted about... 51 Centrigrade!!!
Anyway - I need to strip and clean the brakes 'cos they're making a shocking noise at the moment, plus the crank is creaking so something has gone awry there as well.
I'm totally spent, so I have the choice of:
clean the tricross and try and work out what's wrong with the crank
Ride the Madone into work tomorrow
Decisions, decisions....

Assuming you've got somewhere secure to keep it, I'd take the Trek. Bike maintenance when knackered is just asking for trouble, especially of the kind that you don,t discover until halfway into your ride the next day.1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)

Home to home commute on the Madone it is then0 -
This weather is perfect for getting the best bike out on the commute. Especially for the likes of us who are mainly on nice country roads.
I've been pretty much continuously on the cayo the last week or so.0 -
I'm meeting a mate tomorrow to show him the way in from my village to work (he's trying a 21 mile commute from Derby!) and I'm going to do the commute on the Madone (came in on the Tricross today after all)
This means not cutting through the park, 'cos the road wheels won't take the abuse of the park track like the Tricross wheels (and 32c tyres) can.
It'll be very interesting to see how the commute compares... it does mean I'll have to use a rucksack instead of the pannier of course.Chunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

Commuting and rucksacks = very sweaty back.....that is why I now use a rack and panniers!

51 Centigrade (BTW it's Celsius these days!), no way! Even in Central London it's 35 tops. 51 is like the heat in Dubai in summer! Sure you read the thermometer properly? Or is it against a wall in full sun or something?Do not write below this line. Office use only.0 -
