Just taken my carrera kraken into halfords to get a new brake ( will have to replace the whole system ) and replace the s ram x5 shifters
For parts and labour £130 - £150!!

£30 bucks for labout seems a little steep personally but I cant remember the prices of the top of my head but i would expect it to be about that.0 -

bike care plan is 17.99 labour, shifter for an x5 should be about £30, and the brake could be £75. ask them if u can provide the brake? cause the tektros that are on it you can get off chain reaction for £450

the £9.99 plan is supposed to be for kids bikes so you got youreself a very sweet deal indeed
and yeah, i worked there, and i still do all my own work on my bike, ill only take it in if its something i dont have the tools to do, such as a new headset fitting, of cutting down the forks.0 -
I've got the 3 year cover for £35 been used well. Had 2 bike builds as had fault with first fury had fault. One thing I've got to say it's luck of the draw with mechanics on second bike build they forgot to tighten the handle bars and stem !!!0

If you actually give halfords money to fit you a shifter and brake mee and the rest of us on here will slap you side to side with a soggy fish. One of THE main joys of mountain biking is maintaining, fine tuning and wokring on your own mountain bike. Get a grip and do it yourself. Then spend the money you;ve saved on other bike parts0
