Cable Routing on a Specialized Hardrock Pro

Hi Guys,
I'm new to bike building, so please be patient

I've just bought a nice 2008 model Specialized Hardrock Pro frame to upgrade my cheap all suspension frame.

All looks straightforward other than, one my current frame, the gear cables route along the top of the upper frame tube whilst on the Hardrock it looks like the go around the bottom bracket. I can't see anything to hold the cables in place below the bottom bracket, so I'm wondering if I heed some sort of bracket or similar.

Also, my current setup uses a top pull to the front derailleur ( a Deore) but presumably I'll need to use a bottom pull setup - which I think the Deore will allow?

Anyone have any diagrams or ideas on how the cables fit on this frame?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

You need the guide plate - check your LBS or Spesh dealer.

The bare cable cross under the downtube for better routing from the bars.
  • Thanks Supersonic - That looks straightforward. I do see a threaded hole in the bottom of the bottom bracket housing. A trip to my local Halfords should do the trick.

    Best wishes
