try searching the forum for winstanley bikes"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown0 -
why?
what does that do?
and how do you search the forum?0 -
The big button in the top right that says 'search'.0
-
I personally have had no probs with winstanley but I only ordered two small things.
But 450.00 for a 5 year old bike?
Not that great of a deal.
I would assume that all the parts are 2005 as well
Good parts for 2005.0 -

do try and you might be amazed, surprised or even shocked..."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

i just tryed on 1 out of 2 search buttons, and nothing came up of any revelance!
what are you talking about?0 -
I may be wrong here, because I wasn't following bikes in 2005, but I don't think there's any way that bike ever cost £13000
-
so do you think that winstanley might be faking the rrp?0
-
Quite often Winstanley don't have them in stock.0
-
Another thing, unless you're a shortie you'll be too big for the bike. The only framesize is 15".I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
-
i know that people dont seem to like them, but they are alot cheaper.
this is an uncomplete ex demo, would it be expensive to repair it? (incomplete statments in specs after its written: Incomplete Ex Display Bike)
http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/produ ... Incomplete
its not really that bad i dont think
is it any good?
thanks0 -
or this one?
the only thing wrong is the pivot bolt! (what is that? is it cheap?)
thanks0 -

It's the search button next to 'Members List' in blue text. Don't forget to check the circle for "Search for all terms" if you are searching for more than one word.0 -
Depends how bad things like "chip on seat stay" are. Could be cosmetic, could be something to worry about. Sounds like the rear brake should be replaced, but I don't like the Hayes Sole anyway.0

and how about this?
http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/produ ... Ex_Display
the mech hanger is bent, does that matter?
cheers0 -

Well it's replaceable, but why haven't they done it already?0 -
i dont know!
how much do they cost? and its only a size 14" frame! does it matter if its that small?
there is another, nothing wrong with it, only paint chipping. its in dark purple and im a bloke, would i look like a wierdo?
http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/produ ... 07_Ex_Demo
its a WSD, but i dont think it matters
cheers0 -
How old are you?0

160

i have found a page on the web and so far, i have found a number of kona bikes, around that region!
here they are:
http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/kona-bla ... 45500.html
http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/kona-cin ... 45520.html
http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/kona-scr ... 36543.html
so which should i go for? i took your advice about winstanley!
i deliberatly chose kona because they have a good frame for upgrading!
thanks0 -
we need 2 know what size you are on a mountain bikemongoose amasa elite 08
giant anthem x4 100 -
Start at the beginning:
What sort of riding do you want to do? And what's your budget?0 -
my budget is £500, and im going to be doing hardtail mbting, with jumps and drops.
this really means that the bike has to be light, yet have discs and front suspension!
so i would really like a light weight, durable bike.0 -
shocking deal! its 5 years old! and all the others arnt very good deals either, also winstanleys are prety shocking!I like bikes and stuff0
-
so what do you recomend?0
-
your desc of what you want to do is a bit vauge, do you want a hard riding freeride HT or a light XC one, lets say you want something in between, reasenobly light, but pretty tough and ready for some trail abuse. well:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165499
or:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165499
out of the two i would go for the GT but see what you and everyone else thinks, incidentaly the fact iv put up 20in bikes is a coincidence, its not nec the right sise for you, you need to work it out, how tall are you?
another viable contender for a bit more cash is:

MIght not be in the same league as the Fury above, but pretty good spec for £449...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mongoose-Amasa-El ... .m14.l1262================
2020 Voodoo Marasa
2017 Cube Attain GTC Pro Disc 2016
2016 Voodoo Wazoo0 -
i like all of the bikes, but i dont like the frame of the GT (might look better in real life). i love the carrera, and the genesis, but they are both a bit out of my price range!
is the mongoose any good? because its cheaper!
thanks0 -
Saracen Mantra sounds ideal.0
-
it looks really good!
how about the Kona Cinder Cone Mountain Bike 09? i can get it for £499!
cheers0
