Is anyone riding the explorer or has anyone done it before?

I'm planning on doing the long route - not sure whether to use my Commencal meta 5.5.2 or Merlin Malt 2..... One has a comfort advantage the other a weight advantage!

I'm pretty fit, but if the hills are really bad then it is probably worth the comfort sacrifice to take the hardtail right?

    I did the route mid September last year, as I missed the event!

    Me and my friends used hardtails. Full sussers are for pansies.... :shock: :lol:

    take whatever you are happy with, I have done the explorer for the last 5 years and I ride a yeti hardtail. big climbs usually and an awfull lot of mud this year i expect
