We are two fortysomething ladies about to take the ride of our lives from one end of the UK to the other. We will ride 1143 miles and climb 33886 metres in total. We plan on taking 26 days, well we have to as our B & B's are booked. We will be carrying all our own gear and have no vehicle support. We start on the 4th of June this year.
We have been planning it for 18 months and I cannot believe it is so soon now.
We are trying to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer support in memory of my Mother who died aged 47 from the dreaded cancer. She was a keen cyclist and rode to the end.
See our site for details and any advice would be welcome.

Great effort! Best of luck to you both. How's the training going, have you done any multi-day rides yet?

  • We have done some consecutive days, never enough.
The most we've ridden is eight days off road around Wales. Great fun, of those eight we have one dry day. That was last "summer" testing our kit.
We have ridden over the winter and will up the training now the days are longer.
    Thanks for the positive comment.

Donated! Macmillan Nurses do a great job - I lost both my father (63) and one of my closest friends (26) to cancer, and the Macmillan support for both our families made a difficult time more bearable.

Good luck, and remember to take lots of photos!
  • Thanks Mrs Toast, sorry for your loss. We will take pics and keep a video diary.
