53/39 and 11/23 for all UK racing, including mountain time trials.
I put a 12/25 on the back if I take the bike into the French Alps.0 -

Summer 53/39: 11/23 or when i'm feeling wimpy adn the gradient goes above 20% 12/25.
Winter 53/39: 13/26"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

winter = 53/39 13-26
racing = 53/39 11-23
sportive = 50/34 12-25
took me a while to adjust to it when i got rid of the compact at first but i believe it made me a stronger rider on the flat.0 -
winter = 50/40/30, 12-23
summer = 50/38, 12-21
TT = 53/39, 12-21
If I went somewhere seriously hilly in summer I'd stick the 12-27 on.

It sounds like skewed logic but the bigger ring rolls better along the flat."A cyclist has nothing to lose but his chain"

Road 50-34 & 11-21. I live on the flattest part of the earth. The major climbs around here are highway overpasses and the occasional potholes in the road.

depending on where I'm riding I interchange between. I don't really like the 34/50 as I find the difference to great between the two rings.
