It's sad. I actually have a Lemond bike. I'm gonna miss that line of bikes.

Err - no - Lemond bikes existed before Trek came along and I'm sure they'll be re-launched again soon. I really hankered after a Lemond GXL in about 1991 and sometimes look for one on ebay. Now that he's no longer linked with Trek they might become desireable!Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Was it the one he rode at the 1991 TDF...beautiful frame I remember...carbon throughout and the drop in bars-which I though rather cool unlike many...I never owned a pair0 -
Do you hate Trek because of LA Monty? Or is there something inherently bad about their non-Italian threaded frames?--
Obsessed is just a word elephants use to describe the dedicated. http://markliversedge.blogspot.com0 -
The original carbon-framed Lemonds that Gan rode were made by Calfee I believe, but the GLX (just checked!) was a steel frame built by Billato in Italy from Excell tubing.
I don't think the way Trek have treated Lemond warrants them any particular affection TBH and FWIW I do posses more than just Italian bikes - in fact I'm currently building up a Ritchey right now. My opinion of Trek is based on a fair level of experience building and servicing them - mediocre quality and therefore a significant need for a warranty.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0 -
fair enough :-)--
