    Seems to me like riding a bike when pi55ed isnt a particularly smart thing to do!

    Why would you risk your own safety just for a couple of pints?

    Why have a lower standard for riding a bike v driving a car?

    I've got a pub bike specially to take me to and (hopefully) from the pub rather than driving.

    Some are gonna love this but when I ride back from the pub because the pub bike has no lights I tend to cycle on the pavement :shock:

    So that's 3 offences:
    1. cycling p1ssed
    2. cycling with no lights late at night
    3 cycling on the pavement

    Does that make me the most evil person to ever walk this planet :?

    I'm too drunk to ride my bike on the road

    I think I'll ride on the pavement where the pedestrians are



    Now I agree this may be a perfectly sensible train of thought when you are the proverbial 'one over the eight'

    But to actually buy a bike to especially for this cunning plan

    Pub bike is old bike, demoted MTB in fact. Hence no lights, the lights would be worth more than the bike. The idea is that if it gets nicked or I forget its there it doesn't really matter too much. Surely this is not a new concept? I've heard of pub bikes being mentioned over on Cake Stop a few times

    Hi damned in flames, i'm dead impressed with my aldi trousers as well, can't comment on how well they take the ground though, as i just ride over the top of the pedestrians :wink:

    No need for the placard. If I can still speak I'll just shout "I'm not a cyclist" as I run the bloody pedestrains over. Then they won't blame all those morally uptight (sorry, that should be "upright") cyclists on here :wink:

    I must admit I wasn't expecting so many replies to my first post - thanks for all the comments opinions and even a few lols !

    I'm normally a laissez faire number 3 but the more 1's and 2's I encounter the more I become a 4 or 5. It must be a subconcious effort to keep things balanced.

    Personally I think over regulation and emphasis on rules degrades the individuals sense of responsibility and judgement and so is ultimately a BAD THING.
