Cycle Bell

I've finally and reluctantly come to the conclusion that I need to buy a bell for my daily commute. Unfortunately this is where it's all going to get a bit poncey...
I would like to get a bell that (a) sounds nice and friendly and (b) is fairly discrete in both volume and physical size. I seem to recall that Cateye made some really nice bells at one time but can't find anything now. When I pop in to my LBS the choice available seems pretty poor restricted to the sort of thing I would fit to my daughter's bike.
Is there anything available in the UK that someone can recommend?

Using an air zound on a pedestrian is just unfair.
Witness the subtle and sublime power of a cycle bell first hand, it even works on stairs.

I imagine if this guy did this with an air zound he'd get twatted quite quickly.
