Hi,

I'm having an issue getting the bead of the tyre to sit into the rim correctly.

I'm fitting some Continental speek kings onto my WTB Laser disk trail rims

I've tried inflating to 65psi, 90% is fitting.

should I use something as a lubricant to help it slip up into the edge of the rim.

Cheers!

Soapy water on the beads of the tyres.

Hi I had a similar problem on a Sun RIngle BMF rim.
1st tyre I tried was a conti Travel contact 1.75. It was a bitch to get on and get seated properly. Washing up liquid and plenty of teasing it out eventually got it there. However this tyre blew out on Arran so the second and third tyres were Vittoria Randoneur cross 1.75. These had the same problem.
When I got home, I tried a Kenda 1.9 tyre (sorry can't remember which one) which fitted fine and a Schwalbe Marathon 1.5 which fitted fine first time.

It seems that different brands vary a bit with fit!

PS are you sure you want Conti Speed Kings? They have the pu*****re resistance of a paper bag.

Soapy water and elbow grease it is

Ya they feel thin, light though! said I give them a go and see how they work, most of the ground I ride on is pretty ok
