More forks...

Replacing the forks on my Commencal Combi and have decided on either RockShox Reba or Revelation. I'm doing mostly XC and singletrack (and some commutes) and am in a quandry. Ignoring the pop/pushloc stuff (does anyone have an opinion on whether this is worth the 80 quid?), any opinions? The cost is roughly the same so I'm stuck.

Seem like a decent deal? But again, not sure if the pushloc is worth it. How much effort is it to lean down to lockout?0 -
re: pop/pushloc I am having mine taken off and a standard manual lever fitted... i didnt get on with it but it's horses for courses and I don't think it's worth the extra dosh.
It's not hard to lean down and flick the switch is it??
A lot of people swear by the system though
oh.. and Rebas, as above ^^0 -

Isn't the Combi built for a longer travel fork? What travel do the current forks have?0

110mm forks right now0

You can get you LBS to remove the internal spacer and crank Rebas up to 115mm if you so deisre."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

I'm shortly gonna be ordering some Reba's (disc mount) for £229.95 direct from the Merlin site, but do they come with the poploc? Merlin also sell them through ebay for £239.95 (free P&P) and list poploc included in the title.
Does anyone know if they come with the poploc direct through the Merlin site?
Cheers

I have Rev 426 U-turns and they're sweet. Never felt the need for a poploc though, the lockout on the fork is plenty big enough to get hold of on the fly, and the day I can no longer reach it will be the day to quit riding.

At the moment I have Manitou Splice Super 100mm forks on my Giant XTC SX... Would the 130mm Revelations work on my bike? Do the v-brake boss's make much of a difference??

They would "work" but they may significantly mess with the handling. U-Turn would be a good option, 100mm for uphill/flat and them a little more on decents. You may want to check what forks the frame is warrentied for too.
Perhaps Rebas would be a better option?"Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0 -
You need to be looking at the crown to Axle length of the forks to try to get that as close as possible.
I have Revelation U-turns, and at 115mm travel they are the same length as the 100mm Marzocchis I took off.
I'll second what Black Spur said, U-turn is the way to go if you're not sure of this. Particularly as Rock Shox have a reputation for being quite short.
