I am desperate to invest in a new machine but don't want to spend too much money... This looks a decent compromise, but can I get more for my cash?

Anyone got any news on 08 BTwins? I wish I had picked up the part carbon one for £379 when I saw it0 -
The focus Variado is a fine bike - a friend has one and it really made me wonder why I spent so much more money on my bike.
Pushes your budget a bit though as it is £699 but is a very competent road bike that you won't need to upgrade (at least until you decide to upgrade the wheels as many folk do
