New bike for under £600

Is this one any good for the money?

I am desperate to invest in a new machine but don't want to spend too much money... This looks a decent compromise, but can I get more for my cash?

This one is better. You get Ultegra rather than the Sora on the Scott

The focus Variado is a fine bike - a friend has one and it really made me wonder why I spent so much more money on my bike.

Pushes your budget a bit though as it is £699 but is a very competent road bike that you won't need to upgrade (at least until you decide to upgrade the wheels as many folk do ).

There are a number of Felt models at that range too which are quite nice.
