Sportives for Independant Travellers

Hi everyone
I am trying to get myself booked up for a sportive in europe in 2008 - I accept the etape is nigh on impossible without the aid of a tour operator so thats out of the question and having experienced a Baxter's coach trip for the 2004 etape it is an experience i never want to repeat!
I quite fancy the Ventoux in May but the website http://www.sportcommunication.com/GT/index.php?langue=2 is only advertising the 2007 rides at the moment - Baxter's seem clued up on the 2008 rides so the info must be out there somewhere....
Anyone have any decent web resources for this (or other sportives in europe) in 2008?

There are a number of Sportives during the year in or around Bagneres de Luchon. There is the Luchonnaise in May which takes in some of the classic cols of the Tour as does the Lapebie in September. This year will be their 20th anniversary event.

UCI Golden Bike series includes several sportives that you can enter without going through a third party/tour operator. Page six of the November Newsletter gives organiser's details - so you can contact them directly or check individual websites to find out when the next events are.
