Is this the reward for not giving us the referendum as was explicitly promised in the 2005 general election manifesto and signing up to the Constitutional treaty?

Should we file this one under "no top up fees" and "Saddam can deploy weapons of mass destruction in 45 minutes"?

    Oh come on, it would just go the way of all the other referenda. Wrong answer? You have the following alternatives:
    1. Lie to the electorate.
    2. Do it again until you get the right answer.
    3. Ignore the result.
    4. Lie about the result.
