Hey, I am an unfortunate American whose only option for watching the Giro is to pay to watch coverage online. I was wondering if there were any other ways to watch online for free? Thanks for your help.

About half an hour after the stage you can watch the final 1-3 minutes at http://www.gazzetta.it/Ciclismo/
At least it was possible last year!
• by the way, you can watch the race for free on italian channel rai, its all italian, but who cares?

Navigating a site with a foreign language is quite a challenge and unfortunately I don't have all afternoon to figure it out. I did find the GDT link though. CYCLING TV is airing it albeit with some tech glitches but I haven't decided if I want to pay for it yet.
quote:

• I got there via steephill.com, i think that is the sight, it takes you right to the viewing, the streaming is a little iffy sometimes though...i have it going in one window, and the eurosport ticker in another...cause i dont speak a lick of italian!

If you go to www.cyclingfans.com I think there are links from there to pick up live video streaming from RAI (the Italian TV company covering the Giro). Or if not live, pretty near as dammit.

Certainly good coverage by Eurosport of today's stage, especially the well-endowed young lady carrying an airbed and wearing little but a smile! (:))

Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.

Hey - I am from the States, and I was wondering how you were watching the Italian Channel Rai? Does that come from your Satellite provider? If so, who do you have?
I have FOX Sports World - so I get all the Premiership games and Italy's Serie A.
But so far, no Cycling Channel.
Thanks for your help. Coverage for me is every Sunday for 2 hours on versus. Other than that it is reading live coverage on line.

Another option is to have the following sites open

If you want to watch the Giro in English get coverage from RAI sport mute sound and listen to Eurosport audio in English

Follow instructions on http://www.steephill.tv/2007/giro-d-italia/

I find it best to open windows media player then go to

http://www.cyclingfans.com/

and click on direct link to RAI Sport and start it in windows media player itself.

If you have the live stage on Eurosport and Cycling New Live Report there tickers will tell you what is going on http://eurosport.yahoo.com/cycling/giro/

and have the Eurosport audio feed from the above site in ENGLISH (cause my Italian is not up to speed though I do like the excitement!)

shhhhhhhhtttt

I'm not telling you this, OK? But all the stages are on BitTorrent, in lower quality and in super-nice High Quality. Demonoid.com has them all. Allow 2 days for video conversion and proper seeding to take effect, after that, the downloads fly!

But I didn't tell you this, right?
