oiling bike

Just a couple of questions regarding prep before a trail should i oil areas or is this a no ,no as it might collect all sorts of crap if not what should i use .
Any help would be appreciated thanx in advance [;)].

After you have riden and cleaned teh bike oil the chain and cables to keep it running smoothly.

I wouldn't use oil. There's some much better alternatives available.

Ok Dunk would i use this lube before i go on my bike m8, and then when i come back and clean the bike then use again?.

Finish Line Cross Country Wet Lube is puka stuff.

Just apply it when you need it. It should last a few rides.
Try to avoid putting too much on or you'll end up with a black sticky mess.

You might be better with a "dry" lube when (or is that IF) the weather dries up. Less messy, and attracts less gunk. Same method / process to apply etc. White Lightening or Finishline both do good dry products.

you should really lube after cleaning, after you ride, but you can lube before. as mentioned there are different types of lube. you can get a wet lube which is good for muddy, wet conditions, then there's wax or dry lube for dry dusty conditions and there's an all weather multi purpose lube. use the right one and you should be ok.
