hi
this is a follow up to a post i have put in the buying questions section but thought i mite benefit from the ladies knowledge on here! my girlfriend needs mtb shoes, she liked the look of these http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/ebwPNLq ... 734m004334
however i reckon the sole of those will be a little slippy on her pedals in our current weather as they look quite smoothe? she just has normal flat pedals. does anyone have any experience of these or advice on nice girly shoes with great grip? the look is important to her while i want to make sure that she has something which equals or betters the grip she gets in her regular trainers.
thanks

a pair of waffle sole vans should be fine.
no idea what the ones you've linked are like though. bikeybikey0 -
For ultimate grip on flat pedals 5.10 shoes are superb, but not very girly looking.

I've got an older pair of the specialized shoes which I use with spd pedals - the soles are quite slippery
they are comfy though0 -

Don't take a girl to buy shoes she will spend hours walking around shoe shops being undecided on colour etc and then after 8 hours of walking around a shopping centre will decide she does;nt want any in the first place!!!!0

My wife had same problem. Didnt like any cycling shoes. Finally she decided she loved these

.. in answer to the first post this is the kind of sole you're after if you want grippy and functional but not a 'special' looking pair of riding shoes http://www.ramprage.com/images/articles ... review.JPG bikeybikey0

lol... he's obviously found my picture on fatsweatytruckersfromromanialookingforlove.com0 -
i use vans too. but make sure the waffle is all over (some have flat bits to cover the ball of your foot which kinda defeats the object).0

to be fair, he's probably found it on kyliealikes(withahugebeard)baitinginternetrandoms.com, muddyfox.
i don't personally use vans, but i've heard great things about them. i use globe trainers. thinking of getting the 5/10s even though they look very 'special' they're supposed to be stupid grippy. bikeybikey0
