Hollowtech 2 Spacers
Hi chaps,
Just got my bike back from the lbs where they fitted an LX chainset. Looks good except for one thing I'm not sure about. They've fitted two spacers to the LH side (i.e. the side without the chain rings). From what I can see from the instructions and on my other bike the two spacers should be on the chainset side. Does this make any difference?
My front derailleur needed adjusted after the installation and I somehow got my chain to come off and it got trapped between the frame and the small ring (taking a gouge out of my new frame as well - grr!). I don't think that would have happened with the other spacer there...
Anyway - if it does matter then please let me know and I'll take it back! :-)
Cheers,
Derek.

You need one on the ND side and two on the D side. Unless you have A) a 73mm BB shell, where you only have one on the D side or an E-type front mech where you use the mech instead of a spacer.
Basically, take it back.
