Giro Xen Or Hex?

Good evening peeps, bit of a query. I have œ45 credit with CRC and have to decide whether to a) back order a Giro Hex for the 6/7/07 or b) add œ30 and get a Xen now. Basically i am pretty impatient so 2 weeks seems like an eternity to wait for the Hex so really just need that little push to make me justify spending more money i have not got on my first helmet[:D]

....p.s i am going to try on both helmets at my, relatively, local LBS tomorrow to check for sizing.

Either are very good helmets. The Xen just looks better cos there are no external fixings, and the venting is better so your head will stay cooler

I got a med hex and it look mint and fitt perfect. I have no bad words to say about it [:D] I have also tried on a xen and they feel the same just have more sleek styling the hex in more rugged. Personaly i would get the hex cheaper as well.

I have a Hex, I nearly bought the ZEN, but TBH the only difference I found was that the straps are more integrated, not worth the cost of the upgrade IMHO.

the zen looks the better lid, but its also hotter and heaveier then the hex

I actually tried both on this morning, and can say i prefer the Hex fitting wise, so guess i got to order it from CRC and wait 3 million years for a matt black in medium to come in...bah humbug!

Good choice with the Hex. I use a Xen but only 'cause I found it on offer for a tenner more than the Hex. It certainly looks the business though!

Thing is most helmets look like something has landed on your head....its why i have held out for so long. I probably wont even get a helmet this time and get something like shorts instead. I know its stupid but i just have such a reluctance to wear a helmet.

Thats alright, have a good crash and you wont have a reluctance for dribbling, being fed by tubes, breathing via a respirator etc

Better to look like something has landed on your head than to actually land on your head

to be honest mate, your mental.

I crashed 2 weeks ago, fairly inoculous berm with a rut i hit it went over the bars, cracked a rib in the process.

When i got back to the car i looked at my helmet, completely cracked at the front through the foam.

That would of been my head if id not had it on - not good.

Don't be a muppet, get a helmet.

I preferred the feel of the Hex so I've ordered one of those, fitted a bit tighter and looked that little bit nicer.

Well just so Rob doesnt call me a muppet again i have back ordred a Giro Hex in mattus blackus and it should be on me head by the 9th July.....well assuming CRC dont dick me about.
