I took a front mech of my frame cos it had to go back for a warranty refund. It won't fit the next frame (different brand this time).
But for some reason I cant find the front mech now, I know I took it off cos I tried it for size on my other bike and it was too big, I promised it to a mate for his wifes bike (perfect fit) but It's disapeared. Believe me I've looked every where. I only live in a flat with one bedroom it cant go far.
It's not under the fridge I know that!

  • I'm with jamie on this, front mech on your head makes it much easier and quicker to change your mind.

It had to come off the frame cos the frame was broken (no name incase of them suing me) The swingarm failed twice in two years and so I complained and said "not fit for purpose" and so I got my money back, I was shocked too! it bugs the hell out of me cos I know I didn't take the mech out of the flat (unless it was on said bike for riding).

  • 1) Your wife / gf will know exactly where it is, right?
    2) if you ask her, sh will patronisingly tell you "it's where it always is"
    3) so avoid the hassle, dont bother asking her and

    a) look where it usually is
    or
    b) shout a her telling her that if it was where it always bloody was, you wouldn't be looking for it
    or
    c) storm around the house in a grumpy, till she aks what your problem is, then she'll go and find it for you to save the hassle

Health, things lost and liberty, but I've had the same experience as scottomo, However, I've found you generally have to offer him money, he has a box at most Catholic churches. No tokenism either, I've tried offering samll amounts, only when you offer what is fair does he find it for you, and usually in a very obvious 'under your nose' type of place.

I aint getting in no plane, crazy fool!

Oh this is spiralling out of control.
Sorry no wife/GF, probably just aswell if I keep spouting this gibberish. I rent the Flat and they want to do a 3 monthly check on Friday. Perhaps when I have the weekly clear up it might appear. I hope they don't freak out when they see it looks like a bike shop. But hey it's tidy I have to live there for the time being.

er No, are you asking? I'm not that why inclined. I split up with my last girlfriend went to Thailand and bought a new frame.....Hey this thread goes full circle.....We broke up.....I went backpacking round Thailand (nearly got killed by a Tsunami) came back bought a ********* and thats the frame that broke (twice) hence the missing front mech. I can now blame the ex for this anguish of the missing front mech. Who needs therapy!

It will be in the fridge, you will have been taking it off, then realised your beer was empty, so you go to the fridge and accidently swap items. Next day when restocking fridge it gets hidden behind the large stash you have put in there. Mystery explained.

On a separate subject, anyone know where I put last months salary. It was in my account on pay day, but now its all gone somewhere.

Stop stealing my thread. My friends wife's bike is still in bits hasn't been built. I've been selling him bits to put on it. I promised him an XT rear mech and the XT front mech for nowt, but I cant find the front. Yes the rear mech came off the ********* aswell. I took him down LX shifters, Pace forks and V-brakes in a box. Hey if anyone has some 165mm cranks he'd be interested.
